Tasktop Executives Offer a Transformational Software Delivery Strategy and Ground Breaking Research on Agile Performance Metrics at Southern Fried Agile

Thursday, October 16, 2014

Dave West takes on the Wicked Witch of software delivery and offers hands-on advice for building a smarter, more robust software delivery organization in his October 23rd Keynote, while Larry Maccherone delivers business-changing insight into Agile practices.

What: Two talks at Southern Fried Agile 2014.

1- Keynote: Dealing with the Wizard of Oz – Building a strategy that marries Scaled Agile, DevOps and Lean Analytics into a transformational approach that will kill any Wicked Witch.
Presented by: Dave West, Chief Product Officer, Tasktop

Any effective enterprise change requires a champion, a person who drives change. But many champions worry that they may be exposed as “humbugs” when their approach does not drive the systemic improvements promised. Scaled Agile, DevOps and Lean Analytics are three fashionable and transformational approaches, but taken out of context and without the right foundations they leave their champions looking less like heroes and more like humbugs. In this talk, Dave West offers insight on how smart organizations weave together Scaled Agile, DevOps and Lean Analytics to build the foundation for a smarter, more robust software delivery organization capable of achieving continuous process improvement.

As an aside, Tasktop has asked the conference organizers to donate Dave West’s speaker’s honorarium to Techgirlz, an organization dedicated reducing the gender gap in technology occupations.

2- Educational session: The Impact of Agile Quantified
Presented by: Larry Maccherone, Data Scientist, Tasktop

Learn how the elusive Agile impact is finally quantified, through data derived from 10,000 Agile teams across industries. Did you know that dedicating team members doubles productivity and triples quality results? Do you know what levers will cut time-to-market in half? Did you know that teams that aggressively control simultaneous work in process (WiP) are up to twice as responsive as teams that do not? Larry Macherone will share the latest findings from research that identifies a measurement framework to accurately gauge performance along the dimensions of Productivity, Predictability, Quality and Responsiveness.
