Storytellers and Evangelists

    • Any new idea or technology requires many voices preaching the new message. Mik’s book, Project to Product, has gained tremendous popularity as companies yearn for a better want to align IT and the Business.  You will be another voice sharing this message.  Your goal is to share passionate stories, based on your unique experiences, past and present, that build a vision at all levels of the customer’s organization.

Solution Architects and Problem Solvers

    • As you build the vision along with Tasktop’s executives and sales team, you are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation and validation stages of the sales process.   The foundation of our solution is to connect all of the tools, from ideation to production, in a software Value Stream.  Architecting a complete solution involves using Tasktop’s products in conjunction with Planning, Agile, Dev, Testing and Support tools.  Therefore, you must be a natural problem solver with the ability to build a complete solution that includes numerous third party tools and demonstrates measurable business value. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.


  • Often times you will bring together people who have never worked with each other in the past.  You will coach these teams on the importance of understanding where there work comes from and where it goes when they are done.  You will build Value Stream Architecture diagrams to help everyone visualize the magnitude of the problem and to build awareness for the proposed solution.

  • Since a comprehensive technology evaluation requires third party tools, you often need buy-in from tools teams outside the ones you are working with.  As a Value Stream Architect, you will need to provide coaching to your technical contacts so that together you can remove roadblocks to a successful evaluation and implementation.


Would be great if you had:

  • 5+ years of Pre-Sales Engineering experience

  • High energy, self-starter comfortable with ambiguity in entrepreneurial environments

  • Strong customer facing and relationship building skills

  • Experience with Agile (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and DevOps

  • Significant experience with executive presence and a proven ability to lead and facilitate executive meetings and workshops

  • Familiarity with Project to Product: How to Survive and Thrive in the Age of Digital Disruption with the Flow Framework by Dr Mik Kersten

  • Significant experience selling or administering one of the following plus familiarity with multiple tools listed below: 

    • Planview
    • Jama

    • ALM tools such as: JIRA, Azure DevOps (TFS), VersionOne, CA Agile Central (Rally)

    • Testing Tools such as: Tricentis Tosca, Micro Focus ALM

    • GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube

    • ITSM tools such as: ServiceNow, BMC Remedy

  • Experience overcoming objections, such as security, encountered when selling Cloud native solutions

  • Experience selling solutions that consist of products and coaching

  • Basic understanding of JavaScript


A day in the life:

  • In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives 

  • Lead Value Stream Architecture consulting sessions and onsite workshops to build a complete vision for prospects and customers

  • Provide exemplary pre-sales technical expertise through technical and product presentations, demonstrations, evaluation/pilot implementations, and on-going technical consultation

  • Work closely with the Business Development team to maximize the potential of our reseller and OEM partners by building relationships, delivering technical enablement and joint webinars

  • Support RFI and RFP responses

  • Support marketing initiatives such as preparing and delivering Webinars and Conference Talks, writing Blog posts and Bylines, creating and recording a variety of demos

  • Serve as a customer advocate to other Tasktop teams including Product and Engineering

  • This is a remote position located in the Western US

  • Roughly 30% travel is required
