This was another busy summer for Tasktop. On August 8, 2011, we unveiled our newest product, Tasktop Sync, the first of its kind enterprise-scale ALM synchronization solution. Our
engineers have also released the newly rebranded Tasktop Dev 2.1, the latest version of our award-winning developer tools.
We still found time to be actively involved in the developer community and presented talks during a number of recent industry events. If you didn't get a chance to meet us during any of the summer events, we hope to meet you during one of the upcoming fall events (listed below). |

Tasktop Sync Webinar with Mik Kersten - Sept 28th, 9-10 am PST
In modern application development and delivery, heterogeneous best of breed ALM stacks have become the norm. Driven by open source, outsourcing, remote development and testing, Agile tools, IT decentralization, and in larger organizations, mergers and acquisitions, tool fragmentation is here to stay. There is no incentive for software vendors who are increasingly competitive to provide more than check-box integration solutions, making it impossible for any organization to get traceability and visibility from requirements to source code.
During the webinar, Mylyn creator and Tasktop CEO Mik Kersten shows how Tasktop Sync solves these challenges. Kersten will show how Tasktop Sync connects development, QA, and agile project management together. Tasktop Sync provides the only enterprise-scale ALM synchronization solution, built on the industry-standard Eclipse Mylyn ALM integration framework.
Unlike previous approaches to ALM synchronization, Tasktop Sync provides real-time synchronization, automated conflict resolution, and support for over two dozen ALM systems. Building on Tasktop's Task Federation™ technology, Tasktop Sync ensures that each stakeholder has access to the data that they need within their tool of choice.

Tasktop Introduces Tasktop Sync, a new ALM Synchronization Tool
Last month, Tasktop unveiled its newest product, Tasktop Sync. For organizations needing to connect development, QA, and project management, the Tasktop Sync solution provides the only enterprise-scale ALM synchronization solution, built on the industry-standard Eclipse Mylyn ALM integration framework.
Unlike previous approaches to ALM synchronization, Tasktop Sync provides real-time synchronization, automated conflict resolution, and support for over two dozen ALM tools including IBM Rational Team Concert, HP ALM and Quality Center, Bugzilla, JIRA, and Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
Building on Tasktop's Task Federation™ technology, Sync ensures that each stakeholder has access to the data that they need within their tool of choice, even if the data resides across requirements management, Agile development and traditional quality management systems. |

Steffen Pingel
explains how to get your contribution accepted into Eclipse in his latest blog post...
Stage, Build, Review with Git, Gerrit, Hudson and Mylyn
Getting a contribution accepted into Eclipse is not a walk in the park. In the Mylyn project, each patch that comes in through Bugzilla is reviewed by a committer usually going through multiple iterations until it makes its way into Git or CVS. Mylyn has great support for handling patches, but this can still be a tedious process for both the contributor and committer when it comes to larger changes, due to a lack of automation of the contribution workflow...
