Tasktop 1.6 has just been released!

If you have tried Tasktop but aren't yet a subscriber, your trial has been reset so you can check out the latest release. If you have a Tasktop trial or subscription, click Help > Configure Tasktop > Check for Updates, and restart to take advantage of cross-repository task linking, new time tracking support and many more enhancements. If you're using the standalone application version, simply download the latest release.

Tasktop Teams up with Microsoft to Enhance Eclipse and
Tasktop Pro for Windows 7

Tasktop is collaborating with Microsoft to update the Eclipse IDE to take advantage of the new features available in Windows 7. The improved user experience and productivity features will be available to developers using the Eclipse IDE as well as users of Tasktop Pro and other Eclipse-based desktop applications.

The updated Eclipse user experience will match the look-and-feel of Windows 7 and enable functionality such as as accessing frequently used Eclipse artifacts from the Windows task bar, progress integration on the task bar, and integrated search-based navigation.

Tasktop Partners with ThoughtWorks Studios on Connectors
for Mingle, Cruise and Twist

The ThoughtWorks Studios Connector will integrate Tasktop or a Tasktop-enabled Eclipse IDE with three flagship products, Mingle (project management), Cruise (release management) and Twist (test automation). The initial release with support for Mingle is expected in early December 2009. Sign up to be notified when the ThoughtWorks Studios Connector is released.

Cross-repository Accessibility

Links between tasks in Tasktop Certified™ repositories can now be created to specify and share dependencies across bug, issue, and project tracking systems. Links are displayed in the task editor and automatically update to display the completion status of related tasks in other systems.

New Welcome Screen Streamlines Configuration

Tasktop 1.6 includes a completely revised and updated welcome experience that walks you through the steps to get started with Tasktop and then discover and configure advanced functionality.

Enhanced automated time tracking

The task editor now includes a new Time Tracking section that displays a graph of time spent on the task. Time spent can now be adjusted as needed, directly on the task editor before uploading to the repository.

Task-focused programming for C and C++

Task-focused programming is now fully supported for C and C++. Developers using the Eclipse CDT now benefit from the same focused workspace and one-click multitasking™ as Java developers using Eclipse JDT.

Activate tasks from the system tray

Use the Tasktop system tray popup menu to quickly create, open or activate tasks. When using Tasktop as a stand-alone application, it can be minimized to the system tray.
